Internal SATA DVD Writer for Desktop Builds

This half-height internal drive reads and writes CDs and DVDs at up to 24× speed on DVD media. It fits standard 5.25-inch bays and connects through a SATA interface. The tray mechanism operates in horizontal or vertical orientation and includes a dust-protected enclosure with an emergency eject button.

Nero 12 Essentials and SATA Cable Included

The bundled Nero 12 Essentials suite provides disc burning and multimedia tools without a separate download. A matching SATA data cable is also supplied so the drive can be connected immediately. Both items are in the box, removing the need to source software or cabling separately.

160 ms DVD and 140 ms CD Access Times

Random access latency is 160 ms for DVD and 140 ms for CD, which determines how quickly the drive locates data on a disc. Buyers who need faster seek performance for frequent small-file access should consider a solid-state alternative. This drive is not suited for high-speed archival workflows requiring lower latency.

Questions about this item

Will the laser pickup need replacement after heavy DVD writing?

The drive uses a standard DVD±RW laser assembly; replacement is only needed if write quality degrades after extended use.

What speed ceiling appears first during long burn sessions?

The 24× DVD write rating is the maximum sustained speed; the drive will not exceed it.

How much heat and noise does the half-height SATA drive produce when running all day?

The half-height tray mechanism runs at normal DVD drive acoustics; power draw follows standard SATA 5 V / 12 V limits.
