Replacement Lamp for Planar PD7170

The Planar PD7170 projector lamp module is a new 260W replacement unit that includes a fully assembled Osram P-VIP bulb and housing. It is designed for owners of compatible Planar projectors who need to restore brightness after the original lamp reaches end of life. The module arrives ready for installation without additional assembly. It suits users who want a direct OEM-sourced light engine rather than a bare bulb.

Build Fit and Installation

The lamp module fits into the projector’s existing lamp compartment and connects to the standard power socket inside the chassis. No extra cabling, adapters or firmware updates are required for the swap. Replacing the module frees the projector from dimmed output and colour shift caused by an aged lamp. It is not intended for projectors that use a different lamp code or wattage.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The 260W Osram P-VIP bulb operates at its rated power during normal projection, drawing a steady load from the projector’s internal ballast. Lamp life is rated at 2,000 hours in normal mode and 2,500 hours in economy mode. The projector’s built-in cooling system manages the thermal output as designed for this lamp type. No separate fan or heatsink is included with the module.
