Splits IEEE 802.3at PoE input into selectable 5V or 12V DC output while passing gigabit data to a non-PoE device
The PLANET POE-161S is a Gigabit Power over Ethernet Plus splitter that separates data and DC power from a single Ethernet cable. It delivers selectable 5V or 12V output to one non-PoE device such as an IP camera or wireless access point. Installers use it where a PoE switch or injector provides the upstream power.
The unit operates without a fan so it produces no audible noise in normal use. Power draw is limited to the IEEE 802.3at input range of 52 to 56V DC and the splitter passes data at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. A green LED indicates when PoE input is active.
The DIP switch sets the DC output to either 5V or 12V, and only one voltage can be active at a time. Buyers who need simultaneous 5V and 12V outputs cannot use this model. The splitter supports a single powered device over Cat.5, 5e or 6 cable up to 100 metres.

Connect the PoE source to the "PoE (Power + Data)" RJ45 input, then run a data cable from the "Data" Out RJ45 to the network device. Set the DIP switch to 5V DC or 12V DC before powering on, and attach the DC plug to the powered device.
No scheduled maintenance is needed. Keep the RJ45 ports free of dust, verify the green PoE in Use LED is lit during operation, and ensure the Cat 5/5e/6 cable run stays within 100 metres.
The splitter draws 52~56V DC from an IEEE 802.3at source and converts it to a single 5V or 12V DC output for one non-PoE device.
