Splits 52–56V PoE input into selectable 12V or 24V DC output for non-PoE devices up to 25.5W
The PLANET POE-162S separates 52 to 56V DC power from an Ethernet cable and converts it to selectable 12V or 24V DC output. It complies with the IEEE 802.3at standard and accepts up to 25.5 watts of input power. A DIP switch sets the output voltage for the connected device.
This splitter enables one non-IEEE 802.3at device to receive power over existing network cabling. It replaces the need for a local AC adapter at cameras, access points or VoIP phones. The upgrade is worth it when the endpoint requires more power than the 802.3af standard can deliver.
The unit supports passive 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps duplex data transmission while delivering continuous DC power. A green LED confirms PoE input presence during extended use. It is built for constant demand from PTZ cameras, colour touch-screens and multi-channel wireless access points.

The splitter accepts 10Base-T using 2-pair UTP Cat. 3, 4, or 5 cable up to 100 metres, and 100Base-TX using 2-pair UTP Cat. 5 cable up to 100 metres.
Use the onboard DIP switch to choose 12 V or 24 V before connecting the powered device; the frequent error is changing the switch while the unit is still receiving PoE power.
No scheduled maintenance is needed; the DC output plug connector is the only moving part and would be the first item to replace if it wears or is damaged.
