Delivers up to 60 watts of power and Gigabit data over a single Ethernet cable up to 100 metres
The PLANET POE-172 is a single-port Ultra Power over Ethernet injector that supplies up to 60 watts of power alongside Gigabit data over four-pair UTP cable up to 100 metres. It accepts AC input from 100 to 240 volts via an IEC-320 C6 socket and presents one RJ45 data input and one RJ45 data-plus-power output. Auto-detection handles IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af devices automatically.
This injector suits installers who must power PTZ speed domes, all-in-one touch PCs or remote digital signage displays where a PoE switch is unavailable or oversized. It is not for buyers who need multiple powered ports from one unit, who require 12, 19 or 24 volt DC output directly from the injector, or who want a splitter included in the same box.
The decisive specification is the 60-watt Ultra PoE capability delivered over four-pair Category 5, 5e or 6 cabling. This power level supports high-demand devices such as PTZ cameras and touch-panel PCs that exceed standard 802.3at limits, while the Gigabit data rate maintains full network speed to the powered device.

Connect AC power to the IEC-320 C6 socket, link the network source to the RJ45 port labelled "Data", then plug the powered device into the RJ45 port labelled "Data + Power" — the two ports look identical so labelling is the step people get wrong.
The unit has no fan or user-serviceable parts; only the AC mains cable or the Cat. 5/5e/6 patch cords may need replacement if they become damaged.
The 60 W power budget is the hard ceiling — once a connected device draws the full 60 W the injector cannot supply more, so total power is the first sustained-use limit.
