1-Channel 4-in-1 Video Fiber Kit

The PLANET VF-102G-KIT bundles a transmitter and receiver to extend composite video and RS485 data over single-mode fiber up to 20km. It supports AHD, TVI, CVI and CVBS formats on one BNC channel with 60MHz bandwidth. The kit suits installers who need long-distance surveillance links without signal degradation.

Installers needing bi-directional video and data

This kit fits projects that require 1080p hybrid video and simplex RS485 control over a single fiber strand. It is not for sites that need multiple video channels, duplex data or Ethernet connectivity. Buyers who want IP camera integration or PoE-powered cameras should look at dedicated network extenders instead.

1080p video and 115.2kbps data headroom

The link handles 1080p AHD, TVI and CVI streams plus 480p CVBS with 8 or 10-bit depth and SNR above 67dB. The RS485 channel runs up to 115.2kbps for PTZ control. Bandwidth limits appear beyond 60MHz video or when fiber loss exceeds the 20km design range.

Questions about this item

What power supply is needed to run the VF-102G-T and VF-102G-R units?

Each unit requires a 5V DC, 2A source and draws up to 4.8 watts maximum.

Will the kit carry RS485 control data from my existing PTZ cameras?

Yes, the data channel uses a 3-pin terminal block with RS485 physical protocol at DC-115.2 Kbps simplex operation.

Which LED confirms the fiber link is healthy after installation?

The Link LED lights when the optical signal is present, while Power and Video LEDs show supply and video status.
