Product identity

The Plantronics 783R2AA EncorePro EP525-M is a wired, on-ear binaural headset that connects through a USB Type A port. It is built for office professionals who spend hours on calls and need a lightweight stereo headset with a noise-cancelling microphone.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

The headset suits contact-centre agents, remote workers and unified-communications users who want plug-and-play USB audio with clear voice pickup. Buyers who need wireless mobility, over-ear pads for passive isolation, or an analogue connection for mobile devices should consider other options.

Deciding specification

The USB Type A connector is the single detail that decides compatibility; the headset will only work with hosts that provide a standard USB-A port and USB audio class support.

Questions about this item

How long can the EP525-M be worn before the on-ear pads become uncomfortable?

The on-ear design rests on the ears rather than enclosing them, so comfort varies by head shape and wearing time; the lightweight build and adjustable headband help extend sessions.

Does the noise-cancelling microphone add noticeable heat or power draw during all-day calls?

The microphone is passive and draws no extra power; the headset is bus-powered over USB Type A, so heat and power impact are negligible.

What host device must the buyer already have for the USB Type A connector to work?

A computer or desk phone with a standard USB Type A port and OS-level audio support is required; no additional drivers are needed for the 783R2AA.
