Cable for Cisco IP phones and Plantronics headsets

The Plantronics 87317-01 APC-45 cable connects Cisco SPA512, SPA514 and SPA525G2 desk phones with Plantronics CS500 and Savi 700 series headsets. It also supports the MDA200 communications hub for mixed device environments. The cable is supplied new and carries a two-year warranty.

Replaces worn or missing OEM cords on supported

When the original cable for a CS510, CS520, CS530, CS540, W710, W720, W730, W740 or W745 headset is damaged or lost, this APC-45 restores the link to the phone or hub. The upgrade is worth it when the existing cord shows intermittent audio, physical fraying or connector looseness that affects call reliability.

Maintains stable connection during continuous call

Under sustained daily use the cable preserves consistent signalling between the headset base and the Cisco IP phone or MDA200 hub. It handles back-to-back calls without the signal drop-outs that develop in aged or kinked cords, keeping audio paths open for the duration of each shift.

Questions about this item

Which connector does the APC-45 use to attach to a Cisco SPA525G2 IP phone?

The cable plugs directly into the headset port on Cisco SPA512, SPA514 and SPA525G2 phones using its RJ-9 style connector.

What is the correct orientation when inserting the APC-45 into a Plantronics CS540 wireless headset base?

Align the modular plug with the jack labelled "Handset" on the CS510, CS520, CS530 or CS540 base and press until it clicks; reversing the plug is the common error.

When should the APC-45 be replaced if used daily with a Savi 745 headset?

Inspect the cable every 12 months for cracked insulation or loose contacts; replace it if the click action feels weak or audio becomes intermittent.
