Headset communications hub

The Plantronics MDA200 is a headset communications hub that connects a wired or wireless USB headset to both a PC and a desk phone. It enables users to manage PC voice, multi-media and desk phone calls from a single device. The hub supports wideband and stereo audio for clear conversations.

For UC migration and mixed environments

This accessory suits businesses migrating to unified communications who must retain desk phone connectivity for flexible or hoteling workspaces. It also fits call centres transitioning to PC-centric workflows. Buyers who only use a mobile handset or a softphone without a desk phone will not need this switching function.

USB headset and desk phone switching

The single specification that decides fit is the ability to switch between PC and desk phone calls using one USB headset. If your workflow requires answering and ending calls on both devices from the same headset, the MDA200 provides that control. If you only need a direct USB headset connection to a PC, the hub is unnecessary.

Questions about this item

Does the MDA200 require any firmware updates or replaceable parts over its lifetime?

The MDA200 is a plug-and-play hub with no user-serviceable parts or firmware requirements; it draws power from the USB connection and has no internal battery or moving components to replace.

What limits how many simultaneous calls or devices the MDA200 can handle during a full workday?

The hub manages one active audio path at a time — either the desk phone or the PC — so the practical limit is a single concurrent call and one connected headset plus one desk phone.

Does the MDA200 generate noticeable heat or fan noise when left on all day?

The unit has no fan and draws minimal USB power, so it runs silently and stays at room temperature even with continuous use.
