The Plugable USBC-MD103 is a compact 3-in-1 hub that adds an HDMI video output, a USB 3.0 Type-A port and a USB-C Power Delivery charging port through a single USB-C connection. It is designed for laptop users who need an external display, a data port and pass-through charging while travelling or working at a desk.

Driver-free setup with bus power only

The adapter uses USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and requires no driver installation on supported systems. It draws all operating power from the host USB-C bus, so no external power supply is needed for the hub itself. Disconnecting the laptop's own power adapter while it is plugged into the hub will briefly drop the monitor and USB peripheral before they automatically reconnect.

Check host port and power delivery support

Before ordering, verify that your laptop's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode for video and USB Power Delivery for charging. Not all USB-C ports provide these functions, and the hub cannot add them.
