Retractable Safety Scissors for Toddlers

This set contains three retractable safety scissors designed for children aged three to five. The blunt nibs and rounded blades reduce the risk of injury during craft activities. Each pair features an ergonomic shape that fits small hands comfortably. The retractable mechanism protects the blade when not in use.

Simple Setup with Blade Protection

No assembly is required; the scissors are ready to use straight from the pack. The retractable design keeps the stainless steel blade covered until the child extends it for cutting. A common issue with similar models is that the sliding mechanism can stiffen if paper dust accumulates inside the housing. Wiping the track occasionally keeps the action smooth.

Limits of Blunt-Tip Cutting

The blunt tips and rounded blade restrict the scissors to thin materials such as paper, card stock, wrapping paper and tape. They will not cleanly cut thick cardboard, dense fabric or tough ropes. The small 2.6 by 11 centimeter blade length also limits the length of a single cut. They are not suited for precision trimming or heavy-duty classroom use.
