Purpose-built scanner

The Plustek PT2160 is a barcode scanner designed for point-of-sale environments that need fast, two-sided capture. Its duplex automatic document feeder handles 60 pages per minute at 600 dpi resolution. The USB 2 interface provides straightforward connectivity for retail, logistics or office workflows.

Thermals noise power

The scanner draws power directly from the USB 2 connection, so no external power supply is required. Typical operation stays quiet enough for counter-side use without adding noticeable background noise. Heat output remains low during continuous batch scanning sessions.

Bundled value

Included software enables immediate barcode recognition and image processing without extra licences. Drivers support common operating systems for quick deployment. The package delivers a ready-to-work solution that reduces set-up time for inventory and checkout tasks.

Questions about this item

How do I install the PT2160 and what step is often missed?

Connect the USB2 cable to the host PC and install the Plustek driver package before placing documents in the ADF; skipping the driver install is the common oversight.

What maintenance will the PT2160 need over time?

Clean the ADF feed rollers and glass strips periodically with a lint-free cloth to prevent misfeeds on the 60 ppm duplex path.

What limit appears first during sustained scanning on the PT2160?

The 60 pages per minute throughput ceiling is reached before the 600 dpi optical resolution becomes a bottleneck.
