Product Overview

The PMDG YT-1 is a non-contact infrared thermometer designed for hygienic temperature checks at home or in clinical settings. It uses a dual-sensor system with an environmental temperature sensor and distance detection to deliver accurate readings within a 0-5cm range. The device displays results on a backlit screen in one second and includes a carrying case with two AAA alkaline batteries.

Ideal Users

This thermometer suits families and caregivers who need fast, touch-free readings for adults and children without disturbing sleep. The vibration guidance and silent mode selection allow quiet night-time use while still confirming a successful measurement. Buyers who require continuous monitoring or internal probe measurements should look at a different type of device.

Setup Checklist

Verify that the two included AAA alkaline batteries are installed correctly before the first use. Ensure the measurement distance stays within the specified 0-5cm range so the distance detection sensor can guide proper placement. Keep the sensor window clean and allow the unit to acclimatise to the room temperature for reliable results.

Questions about this item

Does the YT-1 need batteries before I can use it?

Two AAA alkaline batteries are included in the box so the thermometer works straight away.

Will the vibration alert disturb someone sleeping nearby if I keep the sound on?

The device vibrates and emits a short beep after each reading; switching to mute mode keeps the vibration but silences the sound.

How can I confirm the thermometer is measuring at the correct distance?

A built-in distance sensor guides you to stay within the 0-5 cm range, and the backlit display shows the result once the reading is complete.
