GTX 1080 graphics card accessory

This PNY GeForce GTX 1080 XLR8 OC GAMING Edition is a factory-overclocked graphics card built on the Pascal architecture. It ships with 8 GB of GDDR5X memory and connects through a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. The card is intended for enthusiasts who want high frame rates at 1440p or entry-level 4K gaming.

Output options and upgrade fit

The rear bracket provides DVI, HDMI and three DisplayPort connectors for multi-monitor setups. Buyers who need more video memory for heavy compute workloads should look at higher-capacity models. Systems limited to PCIe 2.0 will see reduced bandwidth. The card requires external power cables not included in the box.

Questions about this item

Will the GDDR5X memory on this GTX 1080 need replacement later?

The GDDR5X memory is soldered to the board and is not designed to be user-replaceable; if it fails the entire card requires service.

What limit appears first when the GTX 1080 runs at full load for long periods?

The GPU core temperature will hit its thermal ceiling before the PCIe 3.0 x16 bus or the 8 GB frame buffer become bottlenecks.
