Remote Power Control Adapter
The PocketWizard AC9 AlienBees Adapter connects AlienBees or White Lightning flashes to a FlexTT5 transceiver for remote power adjustment from the camera position. It enables PowerTracking so flash output follows ISO or aperture changes automatically. Photographers using these strobes gain camera-based control without walking to each unit. The adapter is new and finished in black.
Upgrade From Manual Flash Control
This adapter replaces the need to adjust power levels physically on each flash head during a shoot. The jump is worth it when you work with multiple AlienBees or White Lightning units and need to change output quickly from the camera. It also adds compatibility with the AC3 ZoneController for three-zone management in 1/3-stop steps across a six-stop range. Photographers who only use a single light or never change power remotely will not benefit.
Sustained Studio Workflow
Under continuous shooting the adapter maintains reliable communication between the FlexTT5 and each flash so PowerTracking adjustments apply shot after shot. HyperSync and Optimized Rear Curtain Sync remain available for high-speed or creative timing needs. The link does not degrade during long sessions, letting you keep lights in sync while you change camera settings. Users without a FlexTT5 or MiniTT1 cannot activate these features.

Questions about this item
Which connector does the PocketWizard AC9 AlienBees Adapter use to attach to an AlienBees or White Lightning flash unit?
The adapter plugs directly into the flash unit's proprietary control port, allowing a PocketWizard FlexTT5 transceiver mounted on the adapter to communicate with the flash.
What is the correct order for attaching the AC9 adapter, FlexTT5 transceiver, and flash unit during setup?
Connect the AC9 adapter to the flash's control port first, then slide the FlexTT5 transceiver onto the adapter's hot shoe; reversing this order can prevent the transceiver from seating properly and communicating.
Does the AC9 adapter contain any batteries or parts that require periodic replacement?
No, the adapter is a passive device with no internal power source or user-serviceable components; it draws operating power from the connected FlexTT5 transceiver and flash unit.
