Mono on-ear headset for calls

The Poly 783P0AA#ABA is a single-ear wired headset built for voice communication. Its 3.5 mm mini-phone plug connects directly to compatible desk phones, softphone clients or laptops. The monaural design leaves one ear open to the surrounding environment.

Wired operation with passive cooling

No battery or active electronics are present, so the headset draws no power and generates no heat or fan noise. The 2.92 ft cable provides a fixed tether without wireless latency or charging cycles.

Noise-cancelling microphone boom

An omni-directional boom with noise-cancelling circuitry reduces background sound pickup during calls. The on-ear ear-cup delivers a 20 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response for clear speech reproduction. No software or driver installation is required.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 3.5 mm plug and which jack should I use?

Insert the 3.5 mm mini-phone plug into the combined headset port on your device; if separate microphone and headphone jacks are present, use a splitter adapter so the mono earpiece and noise-cancelling microphone both work.

What part will need replacement first with daily use?

The ear-cup cushion and the 2.92 ft cable are the wear items; the cushion compresses over time and the cable can fray at the strain relief, so expect to replace one or both first.

At what volume level does the 20 Hz to 16 kHz driver start to distort during long calls?

The single 20 Hz to 16 kHz driver stays clean at normal speech levels; distortion appears only when the source volume is pushed near maximum for extended periods.
