SKU CH-RJ9K-6S8J3

White joint-sealant ribbon, 1/2 in wide by 150 ft long, withstands -450 °F to 600 °F and seals liquids to 3,000 psi and gases to 232 psi

  • Seals from -450 °F to 600 °F for extreme temperature stability
  • Withstands 3 000 psi liquid pressure for reliable high-pressure sealing
  • Holds 232 psi gas pressure for secure compressed air systems
  • 150 ft roll of 1/2 in tape covers many joints efficiently
  • White joint sealant ribbon approved for food-contact applications

Product identity

The Poly-Temp 28314 joint sealant ribbon is a white PTFE tape designed for gasket-making, food-contact sealing, compressed-air systems and general-purpose thread sealing. It suits maintenance engineers and plant operators who need a chemically inert, wide-temperature sealing medium.

Installation checks

Verify that the mating surfaces are clean, dry and free of sharp burrs that could tear the 1/2 in wide ribbon during application. Confirm the system design pressure does not exceed 3,000 psi for liquid service or 232 psi for gas service before specifying this tape.

Sustained-load behaviour

The ribbon maintains its sealing integrity continuously from -450 °F up to 600 °F without cold flow or thermal degradation. Its linear density remains stable between 0.7 g/cc and 0.8 g/cc, ensuring consistent compression recovery during long-term pressurised operation.

Questions about this item

What does the 1/2 in by 150 ft roll contain and is anything else needed to use it?

The roll provides 150 ft of 1/2 in wide white joint sealant ribbon ready to apply; no extra components are required.

How do I decide between the listed temperature and pressure limits for my application?

The tape handles -450 °F to 600 °F, 3,000 psi liquid pressure and 232 psi gas pressure — choose based on the most demanding condition your system will see.

What does the 0.7 to 0.8 g/cc density range mean once the tape is installed in a joint?

That density range shows the ribbon compresses to a consistent fill, giving reliable sealing across the full temperature and pressure span.
