What this tape does and who buys it

Poly-Temp 28320 is a PTFE joint sealant ribbon for general-purpose thread sealing, gasket-making, compressed-air lines and food-grade applications. It suits maintenance engineers, pipefitters and electricians who need a clean, white tape that conforms to irregular threads and flanges.

Temperature and pressure limits

The ribbon operates continuously from minus 450 degrees Fahrenheit up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. It withstands liquid pressures to 3,000 psi and gas pressures to 232 psi, so it covers most plant-air, hydraulic and process-piping duties without cold-flow or blow-out.

Density range that decides fit

Linear density falls between 0.7 and 0.8 grams per cubic centimetre; this single figure determines whether the tape will compress enough for fine threads or stay stable on coarse flanges. Check your specification against that window before ordering.
