USB desktop phone for enterprise calls

The Polycom CX300 is a corded VoIP handset that connects through a single USB 2.0 port. It is aimed at office workers who need a traditional telephone layout for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 environments.

Integrated call controls and audio upgrades

The handset adds a two-line monochrome display, a full-duplex speakerphone and dedicated keys for mute, redial, flash, volume and call forwarding. A message-waiting indicator and wideband high-fidelity audio with noise reduction change the experience from a basic softphone to a familiar desk-phone workflow.

Two concurrent lines and wideband voice headroom

The device comfortably handles two simultaneous calls and wideband codec audio for clearer conversation. It runs out when a user requires more than two line appearances, video calling, wireless mobility or integration with platforms beyond the supported server version.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 2.0 port or the message-waiting indicator need replacement first?

The USB 2.0 port is the only physical interface on the CX300; it endures repeated plug-in cycles while the message-waiting indicator is a solid-state LED with no moving parts.

What limit appears first during an all-day call session on the CX300?

The single USB 2.0 connection supplies both power and audio, so sustained heavy use is bounded by the USB host's 500 mA current limit.

How much fan noise or heat does the CX300 produce when running continuously?

The CX300 has no internal fan and draws only USB bus power, so it generates negligible heat and operates silently during continuous use.
