Polycom EagleEye IV 12x Camera
The Polycom EagleEye IV is a video conferencing camera built for meeting rooms that need clear close-ups of participants seated farther from the lens. It connects to Group 300, 500 and 700 codecs using a single mini-HDCI cable that also supplies power. A 1/2.33" CMOS sensor captures 1920 x 1080 resolution at up to 4k image-sensor capability.
12x Zoom with 4k Sensor
The camera combines 10x optical zoom with 12x digital zoom, letting the 4k sensor maintain detail when framing distant seats. Horizontal field of view reaches 65 degrees and vertical field of view 39 degrees. Pan range covers 100 degrees each side and tilt moves +20 to -30 degrees. Auto-focus and an IR detector keep the picture sharp without manual adjustment.
Rooms Needing Wide Reach, Not Wide Angle
This unit suits medium to large rooms where participants sit beyond the reach of a standard fixed lens. It is not for spaces that demand a wider horizontal view than 65 degrees or vertical coverage beyond 39 degrees. Buyers needing dual-camera setups or ceiling-mount kits not powered by the codec should look at other configurations.

Questions about this item
Does the 1/2.33" CMOS sensor or lens assembly require periodic cleaning or replacement?
The fixed 1/2.33" CMOS sensor and integrated zoom lens have no user-serviceable parts; only occasional exterior glass cleaning with a microfibre cloth is needed.
What limits continuous operation first — thermal protection on the 10x optical zoom motor or the codec link?
The camera draws power and control over the mini-HDCI link from a Group 300, 500 or 700 codec, so sustained use is limited by the codec's duty cycle, not an internal thermal throttle.
How much heat and noise does the EagleEye IV produce when mounted above a display all day?
With no internal fan and power supplied over the mini-HDCI cable, the unit runs silently and generates only minimal warmth during extended operation.
