Six-piece crimping kit handles insulated and non-insulated terminals from 22 to 8 AWG with five interchangeable dies
The POWER FIRST 24C968 kit contains one crimping tool and five interchangeable dies for insulated and non-insulated terminals. It handles wire sizes from 22 to 8 AWG for non-insulated connectors and 22 to 10 AWG for heat-shrink, disconnect and double-crimp terminals. The moulded handle gives a secure grip during repetitive use. This kit suits electricians and installers who need a single tool for multiple terminal types.
Instead of carrying individual tools for ring, fork, disconnect and heat-shrink connectors, the five dies cover all those profiles in one frame. The jump is worth it when a job requires switching between insulated and non-insulated terminals on the same site. It does not cut or strip wire, so a separate cutter and stripper are still needed. Builders who need integrated cutting or stripping should look elsewhere.
The frame accepts each die set without additional hardware; dies snap in and release by hand. The 10 in overall length fits in standard tool pouches. Common issues include selecting the wrong die for the terminal insulation type, which can produce a loose crimp. The tool has no adjustable force setting, so consistent pressure relies on the operator. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to chemicals in the product.

The kit crimps insulated terminals from 22 to 8 AWG, non-insulated terminals from 22 to 10 AWG, heat-shrink and close-end connectors from 22 to 10 AWG, and both single and double-crimp insulated disconnectors and ring/fork terminals from 22 to 10 AWG.
Select the die that matches your terminal type, align its locating pins with the tool head recesses, press firmly until it clicks into place, then verify the die sits flush before crimping — the step often missed is skipping the click check.
The five interchangeable dies and the molded handles see the most wear; replace a die when its crimp profile no longer forms a tight, gas-tight connection, and replace the tool if the pivot develops play or the handles crack.
