Connect USB-C devices to DisplayPort screens
The PPA International USB-C to DisplayPort adapter in white connects a USB-C notebook or desktop to a DisplayPort monitor or projector. It supports MacBook, Chromebook and other USB-C devices. The reversible USB 3.1 Type-C plug inserts either way. Thunderbolt 3 compatibility is included.
DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode up to 3840 x 2160
The adapter uses DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode and carries HBR2 at 5.4 Gbps, HBR at 2.7 Gbps and RBR at 1.62 Gbps. Maximum supported resolution is 3840 x 2160. HDCP content protection is supported. It does not suit buyers who need higher bandwidth or resolutions beyond 4K at standard refresh rates.
Simple plug-in with one common limitation
Installation is a direct connection from the USB-C port to the DisplayPort cable. No driver installation is mentioned. The single fixed cable length limits placement flexibility. Users whose USB-C port lacks DisplayPort Alt Mode will get no video output.

Questions about this item
What does the 3840 x 2160 resolution mean when I plug this adapter into my laptop?
It means the adapter can drive a DisplayPort monitor at 4K UHD resolution, provided your USB-C port carries a DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode signal and the monitor supports that resolution.
Which interface standard limits the video bandwidth, and what practical ceiling does it set?
DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode over USB-C caps the link at HBR2 rates, so the maximum sustained video throughput is 5.4 Gbps per lane, enough for 4K at 60 Hz with standard colour depth.
What physical connectors and clearance do I need on the host and display sides?
You need a free USB-C port on the host that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, and a standard DisplayPort cable running from the adapter's female DisplayPort socket to your monitor or projector.
