PRC TUF Gaming Special Edition desktop

This PRC TUF Gaming Special Edition desktop is a complete gaming system built around an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core processor running at 3.8GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory, a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD and a Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card with 8GB GDDR6. The ASUS TUF Gaming GT501 RGB tempered glass case houses a 700W power supply and Thermaltake liquid cooling. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Suits 1080p and 1440p gamers.

This system suits players targeting high frame rates at 1080p or 1440p resolution with the 8GB Radeon RX 6600 XT and 12-core CPU. Buyers who need more video memory for 4K ultra textures or professional compute workloads should consider a different graphics tier. The single 1TB NVMe drive may limit users with large multi-game libraries or media archives. WiFi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet cover standard network needs.

12-core Ryzen 9 3900X defines multitasking headroom

The AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core processor at 3.8GHz is the specification that decides whether this PC matches the workload. It delivers strong multi-threaded performance for streaming while gaming and for content creation tasks. The X570 motherboard supports the CPU with 32GB DDR4-3200 across four 288-pin DIMM slots. Buyers whose primary need is single-thread speed or higher core counts should evaluate other processors.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X or a lower-tier CPU for this build?

The system ships with the 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X at 3.8GHz as the only processor option.

How does the 3.8GHz base clock on the 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X translate to frame rates in games?

The 12-core 3.8GHz CPU pairs with the Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB GDDR6 to drive high frame rates at 1080p and 1440p.

Does the ASUS TUF GAMIING X570-PLUS (WIFI) motherboard limit the 1TB NVMe SSD speed?

The X570 chipset runs the M.2 slot at PCIe 4.0, so the 1TB NVMe drive operates at its full rated speed.
