What it is and who it's for

The Presto 05442 Professional CoolDaddy is a 1500 W deep fryer designed for home cooks who want to prepare up to six servings of fried foods such as chicken, shrimp or french fries. Its cool-touch exterior and locking cover make it suitable for kitchens where safety and reduced spatter are priorities. The removable charcoal filter helps keep cooking odours under control during use.

Capacity and temperature control

The fryer holds six cups of food and features an adjustable thermostat with an indicator light that signals when the oil has reached the selected temperature. An exterior basket handle lowers food into the oil while the cover remains closed, preventing splatter. A large viewing window lets you monitor progress without lifting the lid.

Heat management and power draw

The unit operates on a standard 120 V, 60 Hz supply and draws 1500 W during heating. The cool-touch housing stays safe to handle while the oil is hot, and the locking cover limits both spatter and odour escape. The removable non-stick pot and replaceable charcoal filter simplify cleaning after each session.

Questions about this item

What does the 1500 W rating mean for everyday frying?

The 1500 W element heats the oil quickly and recovers temperature fast after food is added, keeping batter crisp instead of soggy.

How does the 120 V / 60 Hz requirement affect where I can use it?

It plugs into a standard North American kitchen outlet; no special circuit or adapter is needed.

Will the non-stick pot and removable charcoal filter fit in my dishwasher for cleaning?

The pot lifts out of the base for hand washing; the charcoal filter is replaceable rather than washable.
