Add-On CD Player for Volkswagen Atlas

This Pro Star USB CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Volkswagen Atlas models that lack a factory CD drive. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and draws power from the same connection. The compact unit mounts vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box.

Replaces Missing Factory CD Playback

The device restores the ability to listen to audio CDs through the car's original sound system. It is worth installing when the factory head unit omitted a CD slot but retains a USB port for media input. No wiring, tools or dashboard disassembly are required for the upgrade.

Single-Disc Playback with Steering-Wheel Control

The player handles one standard audio CD at a time and indexes each disc in roughly two minutes before playback begins. Track selection and volume are managed through the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons. It does not support multi-disc changers, DVD video or file playback from USB storage.

Questions about this item

Where can the Pro Star CD player be mounted in the Volkswagen Atlas?

The unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the USB cable can reach the vehicle's USB port.

What is the critical step during installation that users often interrupt?

You must allow two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before the setup is complete; interrupting this process requires restarting the installation from step one with a different disc.

What should be done if the CD player stops reading discs correctly after extended use?

The lens can be cleaned with a standard CD lens cleaning disc; if read errors persist, the external USB CD player unit itself would need to be replaced.
