Add External CD Playback

This Pro Star USB CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Acura MDX models that lack a factory CD drive. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port for a plug-and-play installation. No additional wiring or tools are required for setup. The unit mounts vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box.

USB Powered Operation

The device draws power from the car's USB port so no separate power supply is needed. Music is controlled through the factory radio or steering wheel buttons for integrated operation. A mandatory two-minute indexing period follows disc insertion to complete installation. Interrupting this process requires restarting the procedure with a different disc.

Factory Infotainment Upgrade

This unit replaces the missing factory CD player in newer Acura MDX vehicles without altering the original infotainment system. It is not for buyers who want DVD video playback or Bluetooth streaming from the device itself. The upgrade is worth it when physical media support is the only feature absent from the stock head unit.

Questions about this item

How is the Pro Star CD player installed and what step do people often miss?

Plug the USB cable into the vehicle USB port, then wait the full two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before use; interrupting this step requires restarting the process with a different disc.

What maintenance or replacement will the Pro Star USB CD player need later?

The unit has no user-serviceable parts; if the laser mechanism or USB cable fails the entire player must be replaced.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the Pro Star CD player?

Continuous operation is constrained by the vehicle USB port's power delivery, which may throttle or shut down the player during extended playback sessions.
