Add CD Playback to Audi A6

The Pro Star USB CD player restores disc playback for 2019-2026 Audi A6 models that lack a factory CD drive. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with CarPlay so tracks appear on the factory display. Power is drawn from the same USB connection with no separate supply needed.

USB Port Compatibility Is Essential

The unit only works when the Audi A6 has an accessible USB port that supports CarPlay data transfer. If the vehicle lacks a compatible USB port or the port is charge-only, the CD player will not communicate with the infotainment system.

Plug-and-Play With a Mandatory Indexing Wait

Installation requires no tools or wiring; simply plug the cable into the USB port and place the unit on the console or in the glove box. The critical step is allowing two minutes for the first CD to finish indexing before using the controls. Interrupting this process forces a full restart with a different disc.

Questions about this item

How does the USB-powered CD player actually work with the factory CarPlay screen in a 2019-2026 Audi A6?

The unit plugs into the car's USB port, draws power from it, and presents the CD audio through the CarPlay interface so you can control playback using the factory radio or steering wheel buttons.

What does the USB connection actually limit in terms of audio quality or disc formats?

The USB link carries standard digital audio from the drive to the head unit, so playback quality matches the car's own DAC and supported codecs; no extra compression is added by the adapter itself.

Where can the drive be mounted and how much cable reach does it need?

It can be placed vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the supplied USB cable can reach the vehicle's port without strain.
