External CD Player for Dodge Challenger

This Pro Star USB CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Dodge Challenger models that lack a factory CD drive. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with the existing CarPlay system. The unit is designed for drivers who still use physical media and want a simple way to listen to CDs through the car's audio system.

Plug-and-play USB integration

The device draws power from the USB port and requires no extra wiring or tools for installation. Once connected, music can be controlled using the factory radio or steering wheel buttons. A printed instruction manual is included, and the player can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box.

Two-minute indexing requirement

Each disc must index for two minutes after insertion before playback is fully ready. Interrupting this process means the setup must be restarted from the beginning with a different CD. The cable length limits placement to locations within reach of the vehicle's USB port.

Questions about this item

How often will the laser lens need cleaning or the drive mechanism need lubrication on this Pro Star CD player?

The unit has no user-serviceable parts; keep discs clean and store the player in a dry location to minimise dust buildup on the lens.

What is the first limit reached during continuous playback — disc read errors, USB power draw or thermal protection?

The player draws power from the vehicle USB port; if the port cannot supply enough current, playback will stop before any thermal limit is reached.

How much heat or fan noise does the Pro Star CD player produce when running all day in a parked Dodge Challenger?

It has no internal fan and generates only slight warmth from the drive motor; noise is limited to disc spin and seek sounds.
