Genesis G80 CD integration

The Pro Star USB CD player adds a single-disc drive to 2019 through 2026 Genesis G80 models that left the factory without one. It connects through the vehicle's existing USB port and works with the car's CarPlay interface so the factory radio or steering wheel buttons control playback. No extra wiring or tools are required for installation.

Single-disc capacity and indexing

The unit handles one standard audio CD at a time and draws all power from the USB connection. After inserting a disc you must allow two minutes for the indexing process to finish before the tracks become fully accessible. Interrupting that process means restarting the setup with a different disc and repeating the full instruction sequence.

Flexible mounting and CarPlay access

The compact drive can be positioned vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box or anywhere the supplied cable reaches the USB port. Because it uses the car's native CarPlay pathway it leaves the head unit's other inputs free and adds no permanent modifications to the vehicle's wiring or dashboard.

Questions about this item

Does the Pro Star USB CD player work with the factory steering wheel controls on a 2019 Genesis G80?

The unit is designed to let you control music from your factory radio or steering wheel controls, so the existing buttons should operate playback once the CD player is connected.

How can I confirm the Pro Star CD player has finished indexing a disc after I plug it into the USB port?

Wait the full two minutes for the CD to finish indexing; the process is complete when the factory display shows the disc contents and playback starts without interruption.

What comes in the box with the Pro Star CD player and do I need any extra cables or mounts?

The package includes the USB CD player, a printed instruction manual and the integrated USB cable; no extra wiring, tools or mounting hardware are required.
