Add-On CD Player for Kia Rio

The Pro Star USB CD player adds a physical disc drive to 2019-2026 Kia Rio models that no longer include one from the factory. It connects through the vehicle's existing USB port to enable Apple CarPlay integration while drawing power from the same connection. The unit mounts vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box or wherever the cable reaches.

Plug-and-Play Setup With Indexing Wait

Installation requires no additional wiring or tools beyond plugging the cable into the USB port and following the printed manual. The most common issue is interrupting the mandatory two-minute indexing period after inserting the first disc; if that happens, a different CD must be used and the full setup sequence restarted from step one. Steering-wheel and factory radio controls operate playback once indexing finishes.

Sustained Operation Powered by USB

Because the device draws all power from the car's USB port, its performance during long drives depends on that port's current delivery remaining stable. Extended playback sessions are supported as long as the vehicle's USB supply does not sag, and the lack of an external power adapter means there is no separate heat source to manage during continuous use.
