External CD Player for Lexus NX Hybrid

The Pro Star USB CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Lexus NX Hybrid models that lack a factory CD drive. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port for CarPlay integration. The unit is powered entirely through that USB connection. No additional wiring or tools are required for installation.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The device draws power from the car's USB port without needing a separate power supply. Operation is silent with no moving cooling parts. Heat output is minimal during normal CD playback. The low power draw does not strain the vehicle's electrical system.

Mounting Flexibility and Indexing Requirement

The player can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the USB cable reaches. Printed instructions are included for the setup process. A mandatory two-minute indexing period is required after inserting a CD to complete installation. Interrupting this process requires restarting the procedure with a different disc.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Pro Star USB CD player in my Lexus NX Hybrid?

Plug the cable into the vehicle USB port, mount the unit vertically or horizontally where the cable reaches, then wait two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before using it.

What maintenance will the CD player need over time?

Keep the disc slot free of dust and debris; clean discs before inserting them and avoid forcing discs into the mechanism to prevent read errors.

What is the first limit I will hit during long drives with the CD player?

The unit draws power from the USB port, so extended playback is limited by the port's available current and the vehicle's electrical system capacity.
