Pro Star CD Player for 2019-2026 Porsche 718

This external USB CD player adds disc playback to Porsche 718 models that lack a factory unit. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with Apple CarPlay for media access. The device draws power from the USB connection, requiring no separate wiring or tools for installation.

USB-powered CarPlay integration limits

The player relies entirely on the car's USB port for both power and data communication through the CarPlay interface. Operation is bound by the vehicle's USB power delivery and the CarPlay protocol's media-handling capabilities. A mandatory two-minute indexing period occurs each time a disc is inserted before playback becomes available.

Replaces missing factory CD player

This unit restores physical CD playback for owners whose 2019-2026 Porsche 718 left the factory without a disc drive. It mounts vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box where the USB cable reaches. The upgrade is worthwhile for drivers who still use CD collections and want control via the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons.

Questions about this item

Which Pro Star CD player version fits my 2019-2026 Porsche 718?

The single model listed is built for 2019-2026 Porsche 718 vehicles; no other versions or capacities are offered for this application.

What does the plug-and-play USB connection actually do once the unit is in the car?

It draws power and carries the CarPlay signal through the factory USB port, letting the original radio and steering-wheel buttons control CD playback.

Which USB standard does the cable use and what does that limit in practice?

The cable plugs into the vehicle's existing USB port, so data and power are limited to whatever that port provides.
