Pro Star USB CD Player for Porsche Taycan

This external CD player connects to the USB port in 2019-2026 Porsche Taycan models that lack a factory disc drive. It draws power directly from the port and integrates with the existing radio and steering-wheel controls for playback. The unit mounts vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the cable reaches.

USB interface limits playback to indexed audio CDs

The device reads standard audio discs through the vehicle's USB connection and requires roughly two minutes to index each disc before tracks become selectable. If indexing is interrupted, the process must be restarted with a different disc and the full setup sequence repeated from the beginning. No additional wiring or external power is involved.

Plug-and-play install with a mandatory indexing wait

Installation consists of plugging the cable into the car's USB port and positioning the player where the lead allows. The critical step is waiting for the automatic indexing to finish; skipping this wait is the most common cause of setup failure. Printed instructions are included to guide the procedure.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2019 model or the 2026 model for my Taycan?

The unit covers the full 2019 to 2026 range, so one version fits every model year in that span.

What does the USB power supply mean for daily use?

The player draws power directly from the car's USB port, so there is no separate adapter or wiring to manage.

How does the USB connection limit CD playback?

The USB link handles both power and data, so the player works only while plugged into a compatible vehicle USB port.
