An XLR condenser microphone with a 14 mm capsule, cardioid pattern, 72 dB signal-to-noise ratio and a 360° adjustable boom arm for studio recording
The PROAR XLR condenser microphone ships new with a black boom arm and a cardioid capsule. It targets streamers, podcasters and voice-over artists who need an XLR connection for an external audio interface or mixer. The 14 mm diaphragm and professional sound chipset deliver a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. Builders who want a USB mic or a dynamic capsule should look elsewhere.
The microphone draws 48 V phantom power from an interface, mixer or preamp, none of which are included. With 130 dB sensitivity, 150 ohm impedance and a 72 dB signal-to-noise ratio it captures quiet sources cleanly. The bundled shock mount and pop filter suppress vibration and plosives during normal desktop use. No active cooling or fan is present.
A full-metal scissor boom arm provides 360° rotation and folds for transport. The arm clamps to a desk and holds the mic at the chosen angle without sag. The included pop filter clips to the shock mount to tame breath noise. An XLR cable is not supplied, so buyers must provide one to complete the signal chain.

Clamp the arm to a desk edge, tighten the knobs so the 360° rotation holds position, then attach the shock mount and pop filter before connecting the XLR cable. People often forget the mic needs 48V phantom power from an interface or mixer.
The foam windscreen and pop filter mesh collect moisture and dust; replace them when they look worn. The XLR cable can develop intermittent contact after heavy flexing, so keep a spare. The metal arm joints stay tight if you don't overtighten the knobs.
The 130 dB sensitivity ceiling — loud vocals or instruments close to the 14 mm capsule will clip before the 72 dB signal-to-noise floor becomes audible. Ensure your interface gain leaves headroom.
