Protective Cap for Profoto Heads
This plastic transport cap fits Profoto ProHeads and Acute/D4 heads, shielding the front glass and flash tube during storage and transit. It is a new accessory built for photographers who move lighting kits between locations and want to avoid scratches or impact damage on sensitive head components.
Simple Snap-On Protection
The cap presses onto the head without tools and stays secure when cases are stacked or carried. Its moulded shape also accommodates B1, B1X, D1 and D2 models fitted with the optional dome-shaped glass cover, so one cap type works across several Profoto heads in the same kit.
For Mobile Lighting Kits
Suits professionals and hobbyists who transport Profoto heads regularly and need a lightweight guard that adds no bulk. Not intended for heads without the dome cover, for non-Profoto strobes, or as a replacement for a full padded case when heavy impact protection is required.

Questions about this item
Does the plastic cap itself need any periodic replacement or maintenance?
The cap is a single-piece plastic cover with no moving parts or consumables, so it requires no scheduled replacement; simply wipe it clean if dust accumulates.
What is the first limitation you hit when the cap is used continuously on a hot head?
The cap is not vented and is not rated for high temperatures, so it must be removed before the head is powered on; leaving it on during operation traps heat and can damage both the cap and the head.
Does the cap add any audible noise, heat retention or power draw when left on a head all day?
The cap is passive plastic — it draws no power and makes no sound, but it insulates the head, so it must be removed during use to prevent heat build-up.
