Double Bar Fox Police Lock 34-38 in

The Progressive Hardware DBL-01-36 is a heavy-duty cross-bar lock designed to secure single doors ranging from 34 to 38 inches wide. It includes two cross bars, an outside key cylinder with a Russwin RUI keyway, a protective cylinder guard plate, and brackets for inswing installation. This new lock replicates the classic Fox Police Lock design historically used in Manhattan apartments and businesses for high-security applications.

Who This Suits And Who Should Look Elsewhere

This lock suits property owners needing maximum security for single doors within the 34-to-38-inch width range, whether the door swings in or out. It also serves film productions requiring an authentic New York City prop seen in movies like 16 Blocks. Buyers with doors outside this width range or those needing a lock for double-door configurations should look at other solutions.

Fits Doors 34 To 38 Inches

The defining specification is the adjustable fit for single doors measuring 34 to 38 inches in width. The lock mechanism extends across this span to bar entry effectively. Verify your door width falls strictly within this range before purchase, as the hardware cannot accommodate narrower or wider openings.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Double Bar Fox Police Lock is functioning correctly after installation?

Insert the Russwin RUI keyway cylinder key, turn to extend both cross bars fully across the door opening, then retract them smoothly — the bars should engage the frame brackets securely with no binding.

What components are included with the DBL-01-36 and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains 2 heavy-duty cross bars, an outside key cylinder with Russwin RUI keyway, a cylinder guard plate, and inswing mounting brackets — no extra parts are required for standard outswing or inswing installation.

Which door-width version of the Fox Police Lock should I choose for my opening?

The DBL-01-36 fits doors 34 to 38 inches wide; measure your door slab and select this model only if the measurement falls within that range.
