Double Bar Fox Police Lock

The Double Bar Fox Police Lock is a heavy-duty crossbar security device designed for single doors measuring 40 to 44 inches wide. It mounts on the interior face and spans the opening with two solid steel bars that engage brackets on both jambs. The lock includes an outside Russwin RUI key cylinder, a protective cylinder guard plate, and brackets for inswing installation.

Upgrade from basic deadbolts

This lock replaces a standard deadbolt or latch set when the door frame or neighbourhood risk calls for a stronger physical barrier. The jump is worth it when a single-point lock has been kicked or pried open before, or when the door swings outward and exposes its hinge pins. It adds a visible deterrent that cannot be defeated by attacking the latch alone.

Capacity and headroom

The two-bar assembly comfortably secures door widths from 40 through 44 inches and resists sustained shoulder or tool attacks on solid wood or metal doors. It runs out when the opening exceeds 44 inches or when the jamb material cannot hold the bracket screws under load. Renters who cannot drill into frames and doors narrower than 40 inches will need a different solution.
