Projector purpose and audience

The Promethean PRM-25 is a short-throw DLP projector built for business and education spaces. Its 2000 ANSI lumens brightness suits meeting rooms and classrooms where some ambient light is present. The 0.65-inch WXGA DMD chip delivers a native 1280 x 800 image for presentations and video.

Who it suits and who it does not

Teachers and presenters who need a lightweight unit at 7.7 lb with manual focus will find it practical. Buyers who require higher native resolution for detailed graphics or text should look elsewhere. The fixed 13.4 x 4.0 x 10.1 inch chassis limits placement flexibility in tight enclosures.

The specification that decides fit

Native resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels determines whether this projector matches the content you plan to show. The 2000:1 contrast ratio and 1080i HD video support handle standard business material. Included power cable, VGA or HDMI cable and remote control cover basic connectivity needs.

Questions about this item

How much desk depth does the 13.4-inch wide by 10.1-inch deep chassis require?

The projector measures 13.4 inches wide and 10.1 inches deep, so allow at least 10.1 inches of flat surface depth plus a few inches behind for cable bend radius and ventilation.

Which cable should I connect first when setting up the HDMI or VGA input?

Connect the power cable first, then attach either the supplied HDMI or VGA cable to the matching port before turning on the projector and selecting the correct source with the remote.

How often should I clean the filter on this 2000-lumen DLP unit?

Check the intake filter every 30 days in typical office use; vacuum or rinse it when dust buildup is visible to maintain airflow and protect the 0.65-inch DMD chip.
