Portable AM FM Radio

The PRUNUS J-166 is a compact, battery-powered transistor radio covering FM 87-108 MHz and AM 520-1730 kHz. It measures 2.7 in by 1.1 in by 5.0 in and weighs 0.32 lb, fitting easily in a pocket or emergency kit. A built-in DSP chip and 16.5 inch adjustable antenna deliver strong reception in urban and remote areas alike.

Simple Controls for Everyday Listening

Three knobs handle tuning, volume and band selection, while a tuning light shows when a station is locked in. The 3.5 mm earphone jack lets you listen privately without disturbing others. It suits walkers, gardeners and anyone wanting a straightforward radio that runs on two AA cells. Buyers who need Bluetooth streaming, weather alerts or rechargeable power should look elsewhere.

Headroom for Local Stations

The tuner comfortably pulls in strong local FM and AM broadcasts across the full declared ranges. Reception weakens in deep indoor spaces or fringe areas where the antenna length and DSP gain reach their limits. Battery life depends on volume level and cell quality, so keeping spares handy is advisable for extended outings.
