White Dove roller cover for smooth finishes

The PURDY 662091 White Dove roller cover uses Dralon fabric with a 1/4 in nap to lay down an even film on very smooth surfaces. It fits standard cage frames and works with both oil-based and water-based paints. The polypropylene core resists solvents and keeps its shape during extended use.

Limits of a 1/4 in nap on smooth substrates

A short nap carries less paint per pass so coverage builds more slowly on large walls. It cannot reach into textured plaster, popcorn ceilings or rough-sawn timber without leaving holidays. Very smooth drywall is the intended substrate; heavier textures demand a thicker cover.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that your roller frame accepts a 1 1/2 in core diameter and a 9 in overall length. Confirm the cage-style end caps match the cover’s internal bore. Ensure the paint you plan to spray or roll is compatible with Dralon fabric and polypropylene core materials.

Questions about this item

Which PURDY 662091 roller cover nap size should I choose?

The 1/4 inch nap is designed for very smooth surfaces such as drywall and works with both oil-based and water-based paints.

How does the 1/4 inch nap perform on a real wall?

The very smooth nap lays down a fine, even finish on drywall without leaving heavy texture, ideal for smooth walls and ceilings.

What frame standard does the 1 1/2 inch core fit and what does that limit?

The polypropylene core fits standard cage frames, so it works with common 9-inch roller frames but not with specialty mini or jumbo systems.
