What the box does and who it fits

This compact adapter adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to vehicles that already have a factory wired CarPlay system. It runs Android with Google Play access so you can install navigation, music or messaging apps directly on the unit.

Storage headroom and processor limits

The Qualcomm Snapdragon SDM450 with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM handles typical streaming and navigation apps without lag. Heavy multitasking or large offline map downloads will fill the internal storage, though a TF card up to 128GB can be added for extra space.

Connectivity boundaries and power needs

Dual-band WiFi on 2.4GHz and 5GHz plus Bluetooth 4.2 and 5.0 provide the wireless links for CarPlay, Android Auto and screen mirroring via AOA. A 4G SIM slot gives independent data access, while the unit draws power from a DC 5V Type-C connection.

Questions about this item

Will the PAS18WD work with my car's factory CarPlay USB port?

The box is designed for vehicles that already have original CarPlay; it connects through the car's USB Type-C socket and replaces the wired link with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.

How can I confirm the Qualcomm Snapdragon SDM450 is running correctly after install?

Open the Android settings to see 4GB RAM and 64GB storage reported, launch Google Play Store to download an app, and verify wireless CarPlay or Android Auto appears on the head-unit display.

Does the package include a SIM card or TF card for the 128GB slot?

The box comes with the iA unit, a USB Type-C cable for power and data, and mounting hardware; a 4G/3G/2G SIM card and a TF card up to 128GB must be purchased separately.
