Safety Reader Glasses, 1.5 Diopter

These Pyramex safety reader glasses combine impact protection with a 1.5 diopter magnification for close work. The unisex half-frame design wraps around the face and uses a lightweight nylon and polycarbonate construction.

Suits workshop tasks needing magnification

Workers who need bifocal or progressive correction should look at a different style. Anyone requiring foam-lined seals, photochromatic lenses or metal-detectable frames will not find those features here.

1.5 diopter magnification

The fixed 1.5 diopter power determines whether these glasses match the wearer's near-vision prescription. If a different strength is needed, this model will not provide the correct focus.

Questions about this item

Do I need a prescription to use the 1.5 diopter lenses?

No prescription is required. The SB1810R15 comes with a fixed 1.5 diopter magnification built into the clear polycarbonate lenses.

Can I wear these over my existing prescription frames?

The half-frame wraparound design in universal size is intended to be worn on its own. It is not sized as an over-the-glass model for use over prescription frames.

How can I verify the UV protection is working after I put them on?

The lenses provide a stated UV protection factor of 0.999. This is a material property of the polycarbonate and does not change with wear, so no user test is needed.
