Ultra-light Bluetooth 5.0 earphone

The QCY Q12 is a mono in-ear headphone weighing approximately 5 grams. It connects via Bluetooth 5.0 with a 10 metre operation range. A 40 mAh lithium-ion cell provides about 2.5 hours of talk time and 80 hours of standby. The housing uses a photochromic coating that shifts colour with viewing angle.

Commuters wanting minimal weight.

This model suits users who prioritise an almost unnoticeable fit for calls and voice prompts. The single-ear design and mono audio profile mean it will not satisfy anyone looking for stereo music playback or immersive media consumption. Buyers needing longer continuous talk time should also consider other options.

Bluetooth 5.0 mono headset with 2.5 hour talk time

The decisive specification is the single-ear Bluetooth 5.0 configuration delivering roughly 2.5 hours of conversation per charge. If your use case demands stereo sound or all-day battery life, this is not the right part; for lightweight hands-free calls it matches the requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the QCY Q12 need a phone or computer with Bluetooth 5.0 to pair?

It pairs with any device that supports Bluetooth 4.2 or later, so a phone or laptop running Bluetooth 5.0 is not required.

Will the earphone’s 40 mAh battery last through a workday if I keep it on standby between calls?

Standby time is rated at approximately 80 hours, so the earphone can remain on standby all day and still have charge left for calls.

How can I confirm the QCY Q12 is connected and streaming audio correctly after pairing?

When paired, the earphone uses the A2DP profile for stereo audio and HFP/HSP for calls, so you will hear music and voice prompts through the earpiece.
