QGeeM USB-C to DisplayPort 4K@144Hz & HDMI 8K Adapter Grey

SKU CH-NMF0-XHFZ9

Dual-monitor adapter adds one DisplayPort and one HDMI to a USB-C laptop, supporting 4K at 144 Hz on DisplayPort and 8K at 30 Hz on HDMI, with 4K at 60 Hz when both ports are used together

  • Cable jacketPVC
  • Connector typePair Male/Female
  • Product typeUSB to DisplayPort Adapters
  • Product colorGrey
  • Dual 4K 60 Hz monitors from one USB-C port
  • Single DisplayPort drives 4K at 144 Hz for gaming
  • HDMI port delivers 8K 30 Hz clarity for media
  • Plug-and-play with no driver installation required
  • Works with MacBook Pro 2017-2021 and MacBook Air 2018-2020

Dual monitor expansion

This USB-C adapter splits one port into one DisplayPort and one HDMI output so you can drive two external displays with different content. It supports both extended and mirrored desktop modes on Windows laptops through MST and SST. The compact grey dongle requires no driver installation and works immediately on compatible USB-C laptops from 2017 onward.

Sustained resolution limits

When a single DisplayPort monitor is connected it can run at 8K@30Hz or 4K@144Hz. Using both ports simultaneously reduces the maximum to 4K@60Hz per display. The adapter maintains these rates continuously without thermal throttling because it draws power directly from the host USB-C port.

Interface practical limits

The adapter relies on the host USB-C port supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode; laptops without that capability will not output video. Bandwidth is shared between the two outputs so driving two high-refresh panels at their native rates is not possible. MacBooks before 2018 and any USB-C port limited to data-only will not work with this dongle.

Questions about this item

Does the adapter generate noticeable heat or draw extra power when driving two 4K displays at 60 Hz all day?

The hub is a passive dongle with no fan or external power input, so it adds negligible heat and draws only the small amount of bus power required for the DisplayPort and HDMI signal conversion.

What must my laptop's USB-C port support for the dual-monitor function to work?

The host port needs to carry DisplayPort Alt Mode video signals and, for two independent screens, MST (Multi-Stream Transport) support; a USB-C port that is data-only or power-only will not activate the displays.

Will this adapter work with an older laptop that only has USB 3.0 Type-A ports?

No — the adapter plugs into a USB-C connector and relies on DisplayPort Alt Mode over that interface, so it cannot be used with legacy USB-A ports even with a passive cable.
