Eight-bay NAS with Intel Core i5

The TVS-h874-i5-32G is an 8-bay network-attached storage server powered by an Intel Core i5-12400 six-core processor reaching 4.4 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory in two 16 GB SODIMM modules and supports up to 128 GB. Two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 slots accept NVMe SSDs for caching or Edge TPU acceleration. Dual 2.5GbE ports and HDMI 1.4b output suit home, creative and small-business workloads.

Two PCIe slots and 2.5GbE uplift

Dual PCIe Gen 4 slots — one x16 and one x4 — accept 2.5, 5, 10 or 25GbE network cards, QM2 or QXP expansion cards, or a graphics card without extra power. The built-in 2.5GbE ports deliver 2.5 Gb/s over existing CAT5e cabling. Intel UHD Graphics 770 and OpenVINO accelerate QuMagie AI image recognition, offloading the CPU during photo indexing and surveillance analytics.

Tool-less drive bays and dual-boot flash

Eight hot-swappable 3.5-inch SATA trays slide in without tools; 2.5-inch drives and SSDs fit the same slots. A 5 GB dual-boot flash module protects the operating system during updates. Installers must populate both SODIMM slots for maximum memory bandwidth and verify that any add-in card fits the x16 or x4 slot length. The vertical chassis measures 188.2 × 329.3 × 279.6 mm and weighs 7.06 kg.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum RAM capacity and slot type for future memory upgrades on the TVS-h874-i5-32G?

The NAS has two SODIMM DDR4 slots supporting up to 128 GB total using 2 x 64 GB modules; it ships with 32 GB installed as 2 x 16 GB.

Which thermal or throughput limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on this model?

The 2.5 GbE network ports and PCIe Gen 4 x4 M.2 slots set the practical I/O ceiling before the Intel Core i5-12400 reaches its thermal limits in the vertical chassis.

How loud and hot does the TVS-h874-i5-32G get when running 24/7 with a full drive set?

The vertical design moves air through eight drive bays and over the CPU heatsink; idle power draw is low and the Intel UHD Graphics 770 handles transcoding without spinning fans to high speed.
