Compact Red Stove for Backpacking

The QuietStove 9957 is a folding camp stove made from coated steel and finished in red. It folds flat to 5.88 in long, 1.25 in wide and 3.75 in high so it slips into a pack or bug-out bag. At 16 oz it adds minimal weight for hikers, campers and anyone preparing an emergency kit.

Coated Steel Build and Fuel Flexibility

The stove opens to a 6.5 in by 6.5 in cooking surface that holds small to medium pots and pans. Coated steel construction resists repeated high-heat use and provides a stable platform on uneven ground. It accepts Coghlan's Camp Heat, fuel cubes, solidified alcohol and other condensed fuel sources, all sold separately.

Solid-Fuel Limits and Burn Times

Each Camp Heat can delivers roughly 4 hours of burn time, while a candle-style fuel provides up to 36 hours total at 12 hours per wick. A single fuel tablet burns for about 9 minutes, so longer meals require multiple tablets or cans. The stove has no regulator or valve; heat output depends entirely on the fuel chosen.

Questions about this item

Which fuel types does the QuietStove 9957 accept, and what is the maximum burn time per unit?

It works with Coghlan's Camp Heat, fuel cubes, solidified alcohol and other condensed fuels; one Camp Heat candle burns up to 36 hours (12 hours per wick) and one fuel can provides 4 hours.

What are the folded dimensions and weight of the stove so I can check pack fit?

The folded stove measures 5.88 in long, 1.25 in wide and 3.75 in high and weighs 16 oz (0.37 lb / 182 g).

How do I set up the stove correctly, and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Unfold the steel frame until the legs lock flat, place the fuel can or tablet in the centre recess, light it, then set your cookware on the 6.5 in square platform; the step often missed is ensuring all four legs are fully locked before lighting.
