Product Identity

This RM-FR-T14 accessory is a dedicated rack-mount kit built for the FortiGate 40F firewall. It converts the desktop appliance into a 1U rack unit that fits standard server cabinets. The kit uses the device's own screws for a secure, tool-light installation.

Fit and Alternatives

Network administrators who need to mount a FortiGate 40F in a rack will find the custom cut-outs keep every port accessible from the front. Buyers with a different FortiGate model or a non-Fortinet appliance should look for a kit matched to their specific hardware.

Deciding Specification

The kit is engineered exclusively for the FortiGate 40F; the model-specific cut-outs and screw alignment mean it cannot accommodate any other device. Confirm your appliance is a 40F before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Will the 1U rack-mount kit need any replacement brackets or screws after installation?

The kit uses the existing screws from the FortiGate 40F appliance, so no extra brackets or fasteners are required once it is mounted.

What limits airflow when the FortiGate 40F runs continuously in the 1.73 in. high tray?

Custom airflow cut-outs in the tray match the appliance vents, giving the unit the breathing room it needs to avoid overheating during sustained operation.

How much heat or noise does the 18.98 in. wide rack accessory add when the firewall runs all day?

The accessory is a passive steel tray with no fans or moving parts, so it adds no noise and negligible heat beyond the appliance itself.
