Parts that must match your case model

Many accessories here are made for a specific case: lighting kits and USB-C cables often name the model they fit, so check that name before anything else. Universal parts need a size match. Fan filters and grilles come in 80, 120 and 140 mm to match the fan, and a GPU support bracket or vertical mount has to clear the slot positions and the card length. Screws are not interchangeable either: M3, M2 and the older 6-32 threads all appear in a PC.

Lighting headers and rack-unit sizes

RGB kits come in two electrical types. Addressable RGB, often written ARGB or D-RGB, uses a 3-pin 5 V header, while older 12 V RGB uses a 4-pin header, and the two are not interchangeable: plugging a 5 V strip into 12 V can destroy the LEDs. Match the kit to the header on your board or controller. Rack accessories are sized in units: 1U is 1.75 inches (44.45 mm) of height in a 19-inch rack, so a 2U or 3U enclosure takes twice or three times that.

Can I plug a 5 V addressable RGB kit into a 12 V RGB header?

No. The connectors differ, and forcing the match or feeding 12 V into a 5 V strip can burn out the LEDs. Use a 3-pin ARGB header for addressable kits and a 4-pin header for 12 V RGB.

What does 1U or 2U mean on a rack accessory?

A rack unit is 1.75 inches (44.45 mm) of vertical space in a standard 19-inch rack. A 2U case takes two units, 3.5 inches, so equipment height and depth both need checking against the rack.

Do dust filters reduce airflow?

Slightly, because the mesh adds resistance, but filters keep dust off fans, radiators and heatsinks that would otherwise lose cooling over time. Clean them regularly, and choose filters sized to the fan they cover.
