RACKSTUDS
An 80-piece combo kit with 40 red and 40 purple studs plus matching nuts for 19-inch square-punched rails, installing from the front without cage nuts
The RACKSTUDS RSL40C-S2 Series II combo pack supplies 80 studs and matching nuts for 19 inch square-punched rails. Forty red studs suit rails up to 2.2 mm and forty purple studs suit rails between 2.7 mm and 3.2 mm. IT technicians and data-centre installers who want to avoid cage nuts will find the kit covers every common rail thickness in one bag.
The Grivory plastic studs are non-conductive and rated for automotive heat and impact resistance, so they add no electrical path and do not degrade in warm rack aisles. Installation requires no powered tools, so there is no acoustic or electrical load during deployment. The design removes the metal-on-metal friction of traditional cage nuts, reducing vibration transfer in dense cabinets.
The Series II nuts include a PZ2 drive slot for faster tightening with a standard bit, and the front-loading stud design lets a single person mount equipment without reaching behind the rack. Yellow washers and black nuts are colour-coded for quick identification. Buyers who need studs for round-hole or threaded rails, or who require stainless-steel hardware for corrosive environments, will not be served by this plastic kit.

Snap each stud into a square hole from the front, then thread the matching nut onto the stud using a PZ2 bit; the redesigned Series II nut drives faster and prevents the stud from spinning while you tighten.
The Grivory studs and nuts are rated for repeated use, but the yellow washers can deform over time and should be swapped if they no longer seat flat against the rail.
Purple studs fit rails from 2.7 mm to 3.2 mm thick; rails thicker than 3.2 mm will prevent the stud from fully engaging the square hole.
