Rack-Mountable KVM Switch

The Raritan DKSX2-188 is an 8-port KVM switch designed for 1U rack mounting. It allows administrators to control up to eight computers from a single console. Network (RJ-45), PS/2 and serial management ports provide flexible connectivity for server-room environments.

IT managers needing multi-server control

Suits operators who manage up to eight servers within a single rack and require local console access. Not suited for installations that need more than eight connected computers or that rely solely on digital video interfaces such as HDMI or DisplayPort.

Maximum video resolution 1600 x 1200

The switch supports a maximum video resolution of 1600 x 1200 in UXGA graphic mode. This resolution ceiling determines whether the unit matches the display requirements of the connected systems. Buyers needing higher resolutions should verify compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

What does the 1600 x 1200 maximum resolution mean for my connected displays?

Each of the eight connected computers can output up to UXGA 1600 x 1200 video through the switch to a single shared monitor without scaling artefacts.

How do the three RJ-45 ports and PS/2 ports limit my cabling choices?

The three RJ-45 ports carry KVM-over-IP and management traffic, while the two PS/2 ports provide legacy keyboard and mouse connections for older servers.

What rack depth and mounting hardware does the 1U chassis require?

The 1U high rack-mountable chassis fits standard four-post racks using the supplied brackets and runs on 240 V AC input power.
